Tsunami

A Tsunami is a wave which is generated by a sudden movement in the ovean floor, most often caused by undersea earthquakes but also landslides, volcanoes and asteroids. Tsunamis can travel for many thousands of kilometers. In deep water (400 metres +) the wave height is seldom more than 0.5 metres above the surfacce, but as a tsunami approaches shallow water, it slows down and increases in height.
